Using AquaScan for Shower Installations and Pressure Flow Testing
Product: AquaScan: Digital Water Multimeter
Project: Shower Installation and Pressure Flow Testing
Installer Details: Stephen Charlton, Plumbing and Shower installation specialist
Date: February 2025
Project Background
Steve Charlton is a Plumbing and Shower installation specialist who carries out pressure flow tests on every shower installation. Previously, this required using a flow cup and pressure gauge. By switching to AquaScan, he now only needs one piece of equipment, significantly streamlining the process.
Additionally, AquaScan is used as a diagnostic tool when assessing showers that may have performance issues, ensuring accurate pressure readings during installations.
Installer Feedback
Steve Charlton shared his experience with AquaScan and how it has improved his workflow:
- Time-saving – Replaces the need for two separate tools (flow cup, pressure gauge).
- Clear, accurate measurements – Ensures sites meet minimum shower requirements.
- Easy to use with a clear screen – Helps explain issues to customers more effectively.
- Versatile and essential for installers – Streamlines pressure and flow testing for new installations.
“AquaScan has been a game-changer for my shower installations. I carry out a pressure flow test on every job, and with AquaScan, I no longer need multiple tools—just one device that does it all. The ability to take precise pressure and flow readings in one go saves time and effort.
Recently, I conducted a test where I measured 6.1 bar on the cold water inlet and 1.2 bar on the hot. Based on these readings, I was able to recommend a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) to the customer with confidence.
AquaScan makes it easier to explain findings to customers, thanks to its clear display. I would absolutely recommend it to other installers—in fact, I’d say it’s an essential piece of kit.”
