Salamander Pumps Wins North East Marketing Award - Product Launch of the Year
Salamander Pumps is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Product Launch of the Year Award, for our AquaScan launch marketing campaign as part of the Northeast Marketing Awards. This recognises excellence in marketing, understanding the audience and leveraging innovative strategies to engage end users effectively.
The award, part of a highly competitive category brimming with outstanding entries, highlights Salamander Pumps’ commitment to innovation, creativity, and customer connection.
Our winning entry centred around the successful launch of AquaScan, our new innovative product that went to market summer 2024. AquaScan is a digital water multimeter, designed to measure water flow, pressure, temperature and hardness (via TDS). The campaign aimed to create demand via a ‘fear or missing out’ approach.
Celebrating Innovation and Customer-Centric Solutions
The judges were impressed by the impact of the AquaScan launch, noting:
“In a category filled with fantastic product launches and incredibly passionate teams, this entrant stood out for creating demand for a completely new product—one that became a powerful sales tool for the entire business. Passion, creativity, and energy were evident at every step.”

A Campaign Built on Insight and Engagement
Winning the Product Launch of the Year Award required us to demonstrate a deep understanding of our audience and deploy effective marketing strategies. We had to demonstrate use of multiple marketing platforms, which included the use of both digital marketing and a more traditional approach such as exhibitions and point of sale.
From the early stages of development to the product’s launch, every aspect was designed with the installer in mind. Key highlights of the campaign included:
- Audience Research: In-depth insights into installer needs and pain points shaped AquaScan’s development and positioning. This included running forums with installers and working closely with advocates.
- Creative Campaigns: Engaging promotional materials and visually striking photography captured attention and communicated AquaScan’s unique benefits, along with a unique and slightly ‘risqué’ advertising campaign at some of our bigger events.
- Effective Use of Media: A multi-channel approach ensured our message reached the right people, at the right time, with maximum impact. With a key focus on targeting the ‘tech savvy’ plumber via digital platforms such as social media and email marketing.
- A Team Effort: This award is a testament to the passion, creativity, and hard work of the entire Salamander Pumps team. It reflects our dedication to pushing boundaries and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
